**Step 1:** Go to the Hedgey [App](https://app.hedgey.finance/token-grants), connect your wallet and select the network you will be using. 

***NOTE:** For <mark style="color:green;">**Safe App**</mark>* *users click "View on Safe" on the app to use Hedgey through your Safe App.*

**Step 2:** Now that you are connected, click the "**Create an Investor Lockup**" button.

**Step 3:** Create your investor lockup

* Select your token from the dropdown or add the contract address
* Select your Unlock frequency: linear, periodic or single
* Select your unlock strategy: linear or periodic (monthly, yearly or custom)

* For linear unlock frequency choose a lockup period (years/months). Add a cliff duration or add "0" for no cliff

* For periodic unlock frequency choose an unlock period schedule and a lockup period. Add a cliff duration or add "0" for no cliff.

**Step 4:** Select optional add-on admin features

* Decide if you want to enable admin transfer rights to the plan. This will allow you to transfer the lockup from one wallet to another, unclaimed funds being distributed. (A use case for this would be when issuing lockups to crypto-new recipients that may lose access to their wallet.) This feature can always be turned off by the recipient of a lockup should they choose.
* Decide if you want to have on-chain voting rights for the grant turned on or off. (compatible with governor Bravo contracts. Snapshot voting can optionally be added to investor lockups that do not have on-chain voting rights added)

**Step 5:** Add recipient(s) and details

* **If you are issuing an individual lockup:** Add the recipient address, amount of tokens they are receiving, and select a start date. The start date can be backdated or future dated.&#x20;
* **If you are issuing multiple lockups:** Add each recipient individually or by clicking the "Import from CSV" copy and bulk uploading recipients. Please follow instructions on the CSV upload module for more information.&#x20;

**Step 6:** Review your lockup for accuracy and create!&#x20;

* Review the details of your lockup and confirm they are correct.
* If you have not used Hedgey before, you will have to approve Hedgey to use the token you are distributing. Click the "Approve" button and complete in your Metamask/Safe.
* **NOTE:** *If you are using the Investor Lockup  <mark style="background-color:green;">Safe App</mark> then the approve and distribute steps will be combined into a single transaction. You can use Hedgey Investor Lockups on Safe by clicking the "View on Safe" link on the lockups page.*
* Once you completed the approval, click the "Distribute" button and complete in your Metamask/Safe.
* You can view the details of the issued investor lock in your portfolio.
